Why) I have driven through Dundurn a number of times over the years and on the way North I always seem to notice the white steer roping statue that stands off the edge of the highway.  From a distance, it appears quite striking but there is no turnoff to get to it when you are driving North.  When you are driving South, there is a turnoff but the statue does not grab my attention in the same way.  All this means is that I have wanted to stop and take a close look at this statue for a long time and I needed to put it onto the Bucky's list to make sure that I wouldn't forget to do it.

Where) 407 3rd Sreet near the intersection of Range 3041 Road and Tamke Road.

This view is similar to what I have seen from the highway a number of times.

Once I got close up, I didn't like the statues quite as much.

I did notice this sign in the grass at the base of the statues. After I googled that phone number, I discovered that the statue is called "The Roping Scene" and is the work of local artist Elizabeth Yonza (1).
As it turns out, Elizabeth has done a few artworks that I admire including ...

... this statue called "Two of a Kind" on the outskirts of Saskatoon. (2)

I also know that I would enjoy seeing her rebar sculpture of an egret as well as ... (3)

... her oil painting of these bison.
