What) Number 23 is a wind sculpture created by Calgary
architect Tony
Leong and his design firm ID8 in 2002. The artwork is
shaped like
a cluster of three-storey-high pan flutes and is designed to
provide an
intimate musical experience for people passing by. (1)
Where) At the corner of 109th Street and Jasper Avenue
Why) Pam likes music and I like sculptures so how could a
musical
sculpture be a losing Buckys? Did I mention that on the
day we
went, we were also
hoping to find a breakfast smoothie nearby? I wonder if
my naturally lucky nature will help with that?
There
was one right in the parking lot next to the pipes!
Pam took a
better version of this picture but I
am using
this one for other
reasons.
In
case you are interested, this is the newspaper that I am
holding in the
picture above. It contained ...
...
this graphic that I really like. In fact, the fringe
festival was
on the Buckys list but we never got around to going to a
play.
Anyway,
after leaving Booster Juice, we headed to the pipes only
to be
temporarily stopped by this sign. However, we could
...
...
see the pipes from the location of the sign so we decided to
cross the
street and risk getting towed. Of course, ...
...
it turned out not to be windy that day so we couldn't hear
anything.
Fortunately, I did enjoy this view of the pipes.
