What) Mustangs at Las Colinas is a bronze sculpture by Robert Glen, that decorates Williams Square in Las Colinas. It is said to be the largest equestrian sculpture in the world. The sculpture commemorates the wild mustangs that were historically important inhabitants of much of Texas. It portrays a group at 1.5 times life size, running through a watercourse, with fountains giving the effect of water splashed by the animals' hooves. The horses represent the drive, initiative and unfettered lifestyle that were fundamental to the state in its pioneer days.

The work was commissioned in 1976 and installed in 1984. SWA Group's design created a shallow watercourse extending 400 feet (130 m) from northeast to southwest across Williams Square and a gently sloping granite-paved open space about 300 feet (110 m) square. The plaza setting for the sculpture won a National Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects. (1)

Why) If you can't answer that question for yourself then you must be pretty new to this website.

Given how much Pam likes horses, I assume that she will like this sign as well. I think it is a ...

... pretty good visual shorthand for the actual sculpture. Now, if you look closely at this picture and the next then you may notice ...

... the same mystery woman appearing in both pictures. At this distance I can't tell if she likes these sculptures or not.

As usual, I found myself enjoying things like the sunshine on the water or ...

... the nice lines on this horse's mane and neck or ...

... the way the sunshine and shadows highlighted this horse's head.

I will close the section with one picture that Pam asked me to take and one that I ...

... couldn't help but take. Both of them were on property just adjacent to Williams Square.
