What) Ms. Pearl the Squirrel resides at Berdoll Pecan Candy & Gift Company and even has her own email address, to which fans can submit their pictures taken with Pearl! She is 10 feet tall, stands on on a 4 foot tall stump and was custom-made by Blue Genie Art in Austin.

Berdoll Pecan Farm has been family owned and operated for 27 years. In 1980 Hal & Lisa Berdoll planted their 7,000 pecan tree orchard on the Colorado River bottom. In 2008 they expanded their orchard to 340 acres and have 15,000 trees in the orchard and 90,000 in the nursery. “We take great pride in the quality of our products as we sell the pecans we raise in-shell, cracked, shelled, and candied. All of the chocolate and flavored pecans are made in our own commercial kitchens.“ (1)

Why) I am drawn to visit statues like this one and I thought Pam would like to see the pecan orchard.

As it turned out, the Berdoll farm was not beside the store and there were no signs encouraging us to visit it so I did not ... (2)

... get to take that picture or this more appealing one of an irrigated pecan farm in New Mexico. (3)

We were able to find Ms Pearl though so I took two images of Pam and Pearl.

I think that the previous accidental one turned out much better then this formal pose.

While Pam was busy shopping in the store I found myself photographing the interesting shadow effects that were created ...

... on the deck outside the store.

I also purchased something inside but for some reason it just takes Pam longer to accomplish the same task.

This cross was another gift for my Grandmother.
