What) The MGM Grand is the second largest hotel in the world by number of rooms and the largest hotel resort complex in the United States, ahead of The Venetian. Owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, the 30-floor main building is 293 feet  high. The property includes five outdoor pools, rivers and waterfalls that cover 6.6 acres, a 380,000 sq ft convention center, the MGM Grand Garden Arena and the Grand Spa. It also houses numerous shops and night clubs, restaurants and the largest casino in Clark County, which occupies 171,500 sq feet. Located on the Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection, pedestrians are not allowed to cross at street level. Instead, the MGM Grand is linked by overhead pedestrian bridges to its neighboring casinos. (1)

Where) 3799 Las Vegas Boulevard South

Why) As I mentioned, I choose my Las Vegas hotels to facilitate self guided walking tours of the surrounding area. This is one of four Buckys that resulted from those tours.

You can see the MGM and it's lion on the right side of this snow globe but only Pam can tell you about the globe's real significance.

The next two images don't have any hidden meanings. (2)

They are just the sort of pictures that I like but don't have the talent or patience to try and capture myself. (3)

The next two images are of light fixtures I found near the door that I entered the building from.

After wandering about that space for a long while, I found myself admiring this display outside of ...

... David Copperfield's theater. Eventually I left the MGM though and on the way back I picked up ...

... this stuffed lion because it seemed like the perfect gift to give to Pam.
