What) Sainte-Flavie is a parish municipality in the La Mitis Regional County Municipality of Québec, located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, about 3 km northwest of Mont-Joli. It is named after Flavia, a martyred saint. Sainte-Flavie is the westernmost point of Route 132's loop around the Gaspé Peninsula. (1)

Where) 534 Route de la Mer (2)

Why) I fully intended to drive around the entire edge of the Gaspé Peninsula but Pam had about tired of that shortly after we drove through Sainte-Flavie and I told her we still had 10 hours to go.  She convinced me to turn around and cut across to Campbellton, New Brunswick. On the way back through town I noticed this interesting sculpture and stopped to take a picture.

This is the view that stopped the car.  Perhaps the cool, windy, weather conditions added something to it.

I tried photographing the figures from different angles but I still think the first view is the best.

A close up view of the sculpture provided me with an artist's name and when I combined that with the ever helpful internet I got ...

... a couple of other worthwhile sculptoral displays that were supposedly available for viewing in the area. (3)

I think the artist's name is Maurice Gagnon but it could possibly be Jean-Maurice Gagnon. (4)
