What) The Smoky
Mountain Knife Works claims to be the World's Largest Knife
store and they back up their claim by having over 1.5 million
knives in stock. In addition to knives they have a full
kitchen department, hundreds of wildlife displays, fossils,
custom jewelry, preserves, tin signs and assorted
collectibles.
Where) 2320
Winfield Dunn Parkway January 3rd - May
1st Sun - Thurs 9am - 6pm, Fri - Sat 9am -
8pm
Why) I was
fully intending to stop in at the Great Smokies Flea Market but some highway advertisements
convinced me that this place would be even better.
Here is a flyer that I found in the store. Would you
have been tempted into making a stop here?
The store had a
whole wall of tin signs and many of them had some
beautiful and or "interesting" artwork.
This one and the previous have some beauty while I put the
next one into the ...
...
"interesting" category. For some reason, I seem to be
overly fond of evil looking skull
based art.
Perhaps looking
at it put me in the gift buying mood. This jar of
jam is for my Grandmother and ...
... I bought this apple made of rock for me.
Then I found
this nice green heart for my mother but in
the same section I found ...
... this rock
crystal for me and ...
... this coin
for my father. Would you be surprised to learn that Pam
was the one who spent her time browsing and purchasing in
the knife section? In fact, after we returned home
she wished that she had bought more knives than she did.
