What) The world's largest fibreglass sculpture is also the world's largest fish - a fearsome muskie - and the centrepiece of the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Over four stories tall and as long as a Boeing 757, it is the biggest thing in a very small town. If this muskie were alive it could swallow a bus.

A stairway up the muskie's gullet leads to an observation platform in its toothy, open mouth. From here, visitors have a good view of the Hall's six-acre spread and its "Sea of Fishes," a sculpture garden populated with oversized perch, bluegill and other freshwater game. In front of the fibreglass bass is a plaque that reads, "In Loving Memory of Marjorie Anne Pazik Herrewig 1948-1983: The small mouth was her favorite fish."  (1)

Where) 10360 Hall Of Fame Drive on the East side of downtown.   April 15 - November 1  Open daily from 10-5    1-715-634-4440

Why) If these had not been fish statues then I doubt I could have convinced Pam to drive 45 minutes out of the way to see them.

The sculptures were well done.

Obviously, I would have enjoyed a visit to the top of the Muskie's mouth.
