Welcome to the Hand
of the Day. At least, that is what I would be saying
if I had been collecting Hands of the Day while I was in Las
Vegas. All you can do in this section is click here to see what events
Fraser and I chose to play or you can click here
to see how well we fared in these events. As an added
bonus, you can right click here
to save this file and play (if you have a program that
allows you to load and play .PBN files) hands 15-22 from my
tough hands file. Try playing the suggested contract
with the lead I got and see if you are good enough to make
it. In most cases, that will make you better than I
was when I first tried it.
What Happened) I went to Las Vegas because I had always wanted
to see Las Vegas and HooverDam. I also went
because the 2008 Summer NABC promised to be one of the biggest
tournaments in bridge history. While I was there, I hoped to
pick up the 18 gold points I needed to complete my gold point
requirements for becoming a Life Master. The Las Vegas
NABC turned out to be one of my most successful tournaments
from a results/Master Point basis and I ended up with 22.50
total gold points. In the 33 regionals and/or Nationals
I have played at since then, I have only beaten that total
five times. Twice with Larry including in Penticton with 28.34
and at the Canadian Nationals
with 28.13, and thrice with Pam including in
Missoula with 23.13, at the Canadian Nationals with a new
record of 37.50 and in Penticton in 2015
with 26.84.
This was my first knockout win ever so I saved the sheet.
